Ok, so I'm a little late with this: the release date was timed to be coincidental with the general election. Of course, there are no coincidences here, and this Bristol four-piece are a collective voice of dissent in these challenging times.
A whine of feedback prefaces a robust, choppy guitar riff that stomps along and drives this chanty, fist-punching-the-air politicised anthem. Sitting somewhere between The Clash and The Levellers, while also citing Billy Bragg as a touchstone precursor, this is proper protest music: nothing too complex in terms of lyrical content or structure, Fighting Fiction make deliver their message loud and clear. And what is that message? There's a clear anti-war message, but that's not the sole objective. 'The stress is on the power of the vote in this song, it's not a call to Anarchy; rather a call of responsibility. To put your politics into action, whatever they might be,' according to the press release.

It'a commendable sentiment, and not a bad single either.
