Review: 'Catty Jax feat Dreadlox Holmes'
'Serial Womanizer'

-  Label: 'Havavision Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '6th July 2010'-  Catalogue No: 'HVN CD 034'

Our Rating:
It would be all too easy to dismiss Catty Jax as just another female pop artists with an electro / dance edge. 'Serial Womanizer' has all the trappings of fairly standard chart-fodder, being upbeat, a bit sassy (in what may or may not be a manufactured fashion), and graced by a guest male rapper who sweeps in and provides a counterpoint to the main 'narrative' and also to the female vocals.

However, Jax has, in her favour, an interesting voice, and it's not been autotuned and manipulated to the point that she may as well be a session robot. What's more, in contrast to the artists who have been emerging who present themselves as sexually voracious as capable of being players as the men, Catty here gives her persuer, the serial womanier of the title, the flick. 'Aren't you too old for these games?' she asks. Ouch!

Dreadlox's comeback just can't beat that.
