Review: 'TELOS'
'Emin EP'

-  Label: 'Bear With Me Records'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: 'June 28th 2010'

Our Rating:
Telos deliver a short, sharp shock with this four-track effort, which clocks in at under six minutes but contains enough noise to more than compensate (and probably more than enough for 99% or more of the general listening population.

'The Moment Just Before' tricked me into thinking that this might be some kind of messed-up dance effort that does with treble what every other dance act does with bass. Instead of shaking the bowels, it takes the top off your head. But then it all goes horrible, horrible... horrible.

'That Girl is a Fucking Mess' is blistering, eardrum-annihilating blizzard of pink and white noise that explodes from the speakers at a level way, way above the pain threshold of the average human being. Somewhere, beneath the lashing barrage of noise, are some bass frequencies and a droning synth. It reminds me of Whitehouse and Prurient. I like Whitehouse and Prurient (although most people don't), and like this, too (which means most people won't). The remaining tracks don’t mount quite the same assault on the senses, with 'Certain Sadness' being positively gentle by the standards of the other three blasts of racket. It's over in no time, but if anyone tells you 'this won't hurt a bit,' they're lying.
