Following the self-released 'Smart Man' with his debut single proper, Adam Parker sets his stall out with 'Oh My,' a song that indicates he's forged himself a distinctive sound. While not the most immediate of songs, it's instantly apparent that 'Oh My' is a song of subtlety and quality.
Simple, both in terms of music and production, the song is a slightly downbeat-sounding slice of bedroom folktronica. Built around the title appearing at the end of each line in the verses, Parker adopts the role of wistful romantic and delivers the reflective lyrics with worldweary soul.
When I reviewed 'Smart Man' on this very site a couple of months ago, I described it as a promising start. Now it looks like Adam Parker is making good on that promise.
