Oh Lord indeed. It's appropriately titled, I'll give it that. Foxy Shazam are billed as being 'an inimitable rock 'n' roll sextet,' but it's not rock 'n' roll as many of us would know it. It's the kind of rock 'n' roll you might associate with Queen, only with heaps of brass and vocals that are more Mika than Mick Jagger.
Small wonder the major labels are in trouble when they're spending their money touting crap like this. Overblown, indulgent, and flamboyant in the kind of way you might expect from a band that include Elton John amongst their influences, it's not fun, it's just annoying. They even have a track on their forthcoming album that features Justin Hawkins, of former Darkness infamy. Oh Lord, help us all.
