Indie-pop is becoming a real turn-off for me these days. Put it down to overexposure, or to a proliferation of lame, limp-wristed acts tossing off records under the banner clamouring for my attention. Whatever the reason, I find myself groaning when I read the words.
This means that I can't help but be prejudiced when I give Bristol-based foursome Out Like a Lion's single a spin. That said, prejudiced or not, I'm always ready for my expectations to be confounded, always hoping for something... more. Alas, these guys don't deliver on any level. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with 'Back to Front,' other than the fact that it sound like about three hundred other songs I've heard in the last three months. Anonymous, bland... what's the point?
