You Know How To Love Me is the long-awaited single from the much loved soul-singer Brenda Edwards, once a semi-finalist on the X-Factor back in 2005. Why the wait? Well, Brenda immediately secured a deal to play the role of Mama Thornton in Chicago The Musical in Londons West End where she stayed for a year before creating the role of Pearl Pastor in Carmen Jones at the Royal Festival Hall. Then last year she received much acclaim for her performance as Killer Queen in the first UK and international tour of the Queen musical We Will Rock You.
According to Brian May, Brenda Edwards is irrepressible, scary, funny and a killer singer. She has chosen a ballad to showcase her talent. You Know How To Love Me is a song thats been around for a few years but until he heard Brenda Edwards, executive producer Guy James couldnt find anyone quite appropriate for it. Produced by Willie Dowling and with musicians that include Jerry Meehan whos best known as Robbie Williams writer and producer, its a classic soul song that grows to a powerful climax. In some ways this represents the path of Brenda Edwards own career today and one that this record suggests has a long way to go. We look forward to hearing more!
