Ah, The Supermen Lovers... remember them? The guys - well, actually just the one guy, Guillaume Atlan - behind the global smash 'Starlight.' It reached number 2 in England, number 3 in France, number 3 in Australia, and number 1 in 11 European countries. Evidently a lot of people liked it. I was far from keen myself, but its complete ubiquity during 2001 made it nothing if not memorable.
You might be forgiven for thinking that The Supermen Lovers had vanished after that, but apparently Atlan's released a string of successful albums that have completely bypassed not only me, but the UK charts and radio stations. And now he's back with another slab of disco-funk that comes in seven different flavours by way of a slew of remixes.

It should come as no surprise that 'Take a Chance' is shiny, slick and soulful, with plenty of brass, beats and bump 'n' grind. It's also deeply corny and reminds me of the songs Isaac Hayes used to sing as Chef on South Park, only without the humour.
