Review: 'MINUTES, THE'
'FLEETWOOD'

-  Label: 'Self Release'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'September 10th 2010'-  Catalogue No: 'www.theminutesmusic.com'

Our Rating:
Following hot on the heels of 'Secret History', this is the second single taken from the Dublin rock n roll trio's forthcoming debut album 'Macarta' (which takes its name from the New York studios where it was recorded).

The Nazareth carpenter's son has not only gone electric, he's feeding his head with heavy-gain fuzzy distortion, having cranked his amplifier up to 10 and abandoned himself to the resulting sonic devastation.

'Fleetwood' is a devil's dollop of smouldering rockabilly with a deep set melody and a repetitive rhythm section that's offset with heart-wrenching harmonica and atonal brass mayhem.

'I can be your Jesus' is the evangelistic hookline declaration as the track threatens to crash and burn under the weight of all that rapidly overloading sonic chaos. Yet at the same time, you get the sense that Mark Austin and co. remain fully in control.

Uncompromising and ever-so-slightly tongue-in-cheek,this solid, slow-burning rock n' roller pinpoints THE MINUTES as they progress along the road to Hell.
