Different Frequencies' previous single, 'Flicking Switches' didn't impress me much, and despite having received the backing of Rob Da Bank, Annie Nightingale, Eddy Temple Morris and Don Letts, amongst others, it failed to set the world alight. Hardly surprising, really: it was just another dollop of half-arsed electro-pop in a world buried in a landslide of half-arsed electro-pop.
So why would the follow-up be any different? Billed as 'an instantly-catchy disco/funk-fuelled pop song', 'Littlehampton' is brassy and brimming with bongos and tells the tale of a yuppie poser who's entire existence is a façade: 'One weekend of the month / He acts like Donald Trump / And then it's back to the Playboy Mansion / His mum’s house in Littlehampton.'

The music still rates high on the irritant scale, but lyrically it's at least interesting and vaguely amusing, and it's definitely a step in the right direction.
