Review: 'OLDMIXON, ANDREA'
'Thousand Miles Away'

-  Label: 'Self released'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '20th September 2010'

Our Rating:
The airbrushed cover photo gives an inkling of the blemish-free, squeaky clean pop on this album.

The ten songs have been chosen for their uncomplicated messages asserting her strong religious faith and unswerving belief in the healing power of love.

The dedications on the sleeve give thanks to family and friends and ends "And most importantly, I thank God for who He is in my life and all He does to guide, inspire and protect me".

It features four songs co-written by Annie Roboff including The Glory Of Life, a faux-gospel number stretched out for six minutes.

Oldmixon's bland voice matches the bland arrangements on an album which is relentlessly nice and mind-numbingly wholesome.

If there is, after all, a heaven and this is the kind of music being played on the jukebox, I think I'll take my chances in the other place.
