Review: 'Stolen Peace'
'Bones'

-  Album: 'Bones' -  Label: 'Ambiel'
-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
I have to admit I was sceptical about giving this album a listen to when it was put in front of me. I think rock is a genre that invites the most potential for mediocre tunes. For those who haven't quite got it, it begins to sound all a bit the same. Thankfully, Stolen Peace were a refreshing bucking of the trend.

The Mancunian rockers bring a proper old-school sound that quite frankly, you don't hear so much any more. The vocals are strong, powerful and consistent throughout, and with a 10-track album, it shows just enough in terms of diversity of the tracks for a really well rounded debut.

Lead single Parasoul is a fantastic showcase of the band's talents, whilst personal favourites include Pandher and Keep Your Head.

It does need polishing a tad, and I'm aware of the irony for a rock band, but you get the impression these first steps are tentative. Maybe that's because they've set the bar so high that I want to see more. But that's not to take anything away from this album, it's varied and definitely has a couple of stand-out tracks that you could see being taken mainstream. More than a solid effort, I'd recommend this as well worth as listen to if you're looking for a bandwagon to jump on early.
