Review: 'MUSGRAVES, THE'
'Lost In Familiarity'

-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: 'April 2011'

Our Rating:
The Musgraves, a four piece band hailing from the Midlands, have released their debut EP 'Lost in Familiarity' - and it is a perfect piece of poppy folk. Using a mix of sounds and textures, layering percussion, including a bit of triangle, the songs are engaging and make a great listen.

Opening with 'So Sofia', a brilliantly uplifting song, '˜Lost in Familiarity' is something the music scene has needed for a while; happy, upbeat and optimistic music. Track four 'Fortune Teller' is the stand-out track and is one of the best original songs to have been released in a while. Incorporating light melodies and hypnotic lyrics, the whole EP is a brilliantly produced piece of music.

With growing popularity, The Musgraves have started their career perfectly, with a great stand-out EP. Here's hoping that it is not the last that we hear from the band.
