Hmm, sorry, what? Did someone say something? I must have nodded off while listening to Medicine Park's 'Pope of Fools'. Austin-based singer-songwriter Clay Berkes and his collaborators have produced an album that's a laid-back and tuneful blend of country-flavoured pop (with tinges of Soul, according to the press release). 'I Don't Mind' sounds a bit like The Eagles and it's about as exciting as it gets.
I'm sure it's all heartfelt and technically it's without blemish, but none of these things add up to a stimulating album.
