Our Rating:
The message of the track We Love Reggae Music on this album is very simple : "dem love reggae and all over the world dem choose it" .

The record uses Reggae as a vehicle for speaking out against tyranny, neo-racism (Outlaw Gangs) and, in particularly to raise awareness about environmental problems facing the planet.

Bert 'Washasha X' Lettsome has more than a passing interest in these issues. His day job is as Chief Conservation Officer of the British Virgin Isles.

The title track sets out the choices people need to make the earth a better place : "start conservation, end pollution, reduce, reuse".

Equally, the track One Virgin Isles tells of the "oneness" and "niceness" of the Islands and why they need protecting.

The record has seventeen tracks although six of these are duplicates, or rather they are listed as 'Dubwise' mixes which are, to my ear, indistinguishable from the non-dubwise versions.

The best of these comes with the woozy beats of Over Yonder (featuring Stunner G) which is a hymn to glory of God (Rastafari) and gives praise to Mama Africa.

Aside from this, the record is musically unsophisticated and repetitive. Washasha X is clearly in earnest but the fact that I support his good causes doesn't make the album any more appealing.

Still, any man who signs his letters reggaematically yours is worthy of respect
