Review: 'SHIE GELLER'
'WOO HOO (I THINK I LOVE YOU)'

-  Label: 'Self-released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'August 2011'

Our Rating:
Manchester based singer songwriter SHIE GELLER stomps onto the scene with his debut single armed with the catchiest “woo-hoos!” in a song since Dandy Warhols’ Bohemian Like You.

Despite the song not matching the stoner-strut of the Warhols’ mobile phone endorsing smash, it does make for a rather enjoyable ACDC go disco-glam ride. However there is a suspicion that Shie Geller may be taking it more seriously than the rest of us, especially in his earnest delivery which transforms potentially funny lines (“you don’t need yours when you’ve got mine”) into being mildly embarrassing.

Still it’s worth persevering just to hear the completely unexpected breakdown towards the end that sounds like a lost LCD Soundsystem demo. By that point you would have heard the “woo-hoo” hook around ten times, but it’s up to you whether you want to risk it being in your head for the next week.
