With its spiralling, kaleidoscopic analogue sounds, off-beat beats and off-kilter vocals, 'Eyes' is vintage, timeless pop put through the wringer, stretched, teased and bent out of shape every which way, then drowned in lakes of reverb. Yet at its heart, it's still a magical pop song, and its breeziness shines through.
The same is true of double A-side track ‘Pulled Over’, which features the unspeakably prolific cult legend R. Stevie Moore. Twisted but still on the right side of holding a tune, it’s curiously compelling and strangely cool.
