Review: 'FUTUREGRAPHER'
'Tom Tom Bike'

-  Label: 'Twisted Tree Line Records'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '1st August 2011'

Our Rating:
Futuregrapher (aka Árni Grétar) is the co-founder of Möller Records and one of the leading members of Iceland's Weirdcore scene which aims to give a monthly live platform for local electronica artists.

He's not a man for grand gestures and not a lot happens on the pure drone-like ambience of first two tracks (Ringo Is High and Plasticry).

Muffled voices and the hint of a beat disturb the meditative state on the shortest track Dagur but the best of the four tracks comes through the darker, crackly textures of Memory Vallum where slow pulses create a creepy atmosphere.

This makes you think the cover image might just be a nod towards Kubrick's The Shining rather than just a shot of a cute kid on a tricycle.
