Review: 'Dark Captain'
'Right Way Round'

-  Label: 'LoAF Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '28th November 2011'

Our Rating:
The second single from the stellar ‘Dead Legs and Alibis’ album, ‘Right Way Round’ is softly penetrating, swathed in layers of luscious textures and drifting harmonies, all welded to a steady, repetitive guitar motif and solid, military rhythm infused with an undeniable dreaminess that sets the track off perfectly.

Whether or not it evokes ‘a folked-up Fugazi, or being followed home from a night out by a tooled-up Pentangle’ is perhaps subject for debate, but it’s a fair indicator of the track’s subtle dream-folk force. Meanwhile, the Enjoyed Remix has a more overtly chilled-out danciness to it that’s suitably effective, and the West Avenue version of ‘Jealous Enemies’ from the previous album, ‘Miracle Kicker’ is spaced out and trancey without being naff.
