Review: 'RAM'S POCKET RADIO'
'DOGS RUN IN PACKS (EP)'

-  Label: 'Ram's pocket radio'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '5th December 2011'

Our Rating:
I had high hopes for this on seeing the sleeve. It has cool cut outs like one of those New Order covers that cost Factory records so much, but my heart dropped on reading the press release and the baffling quote from Tom Robinson "about to scare the ******* out of every other piano based band on the planet." Now what 7 letter word could that be? Laughter, Treacle, Alcohol, Bejesus. I just don't know.

Having heard it a few times I have to say it seems to give less on every listen. It proffers bass-heavy piano balladery with lightly auto tuned lyrics on the opener Dogs Run in Packs and the only thing memorable about it is the bass sound. As for the piano it is totally forgettable. The second tune ,The Stuff That Went Before, sounds like a Ben Folds Five cast off that he refused to do because it was too bland. Then on You And Me Babe it just sounds like there is something missing. As for the final song it did nothing at all for me. But then finding a band are boasting about supporting Snow Patrol probably explains the blandness. It's enough to have me believe they will never stand out.
