Edinburgh-based combo My Tiny Robots describe themselves as an ‘oddpop four-piece’. ‘Guild of Defiants’ isn’t particularly odd and only subtly poppy, but it is, however, really rather good.
With a jangly guitar line that’s timeless and evocative underpinned to a solid rhythm, ‘Guild of Defiants’ is a quintessentially Scottish piece of old-school indie pop as much in the vein of Orange Juice as their own list of references which include Modest Mouse and Flaming Lips. Quality stuff.
