Review: 'Promise Me Tomorrow'
'Through It All'

-  Album: 'Through It All'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '23rd January 2012'

Our Rating:
Fucking hell, it's 2012 and still the endless procession of wimpy so-called rock acts churning out the same limp heart-on-sleeve teen angst crap continues. Ok, so rock music's been a round a while now and is here to stay, and teen angst is eternal, but the last decade has seen a real stasis in the way the latter is expressed by means of the latter. It all started with bands like Lost Prophets, and has continued via the medium of Kerrang! TV to a new generation of kids with VO5 sculpted hair and tattoos churning out exactly the same painfully safe radio-friendly rock sound.

Citing contemporaries (i.e. second and third-generation nu-rock acts(including Kids in Glass Houses, You Me At Six and All Time Low and nabbing the format of their moniker from guitar-wielding haircuts Bring Me the Horizon, Promise me Tomorrow bounce out popular positive angst bromides like ' I couldn't care less', 'all or nothing', 'live forever', 'crash and burn' and 'you haven't seen the best of me' and cumbersome clunkers like 'I can't sleep with the lights on, can't help what you said before, not tonight'.

I've heard it all before, guys, so quit whining, get some long trousers and some socks and get over it.
