Comedy records, don't you just love 'em? Well....actually, no.
The Bad Detectives have been around since the 1970s. they're a bunch of five mates from Frome, Somerset with a shared love of R'n'B and old-time Rock'n'Roll and a mutual hatred of mainstream pop. Think Dr. Feelgood with punch lines.
They don't take themselves too seriously but are hard working enough to have clocked up three previous albums. There write a lot of songs about cars, girls and being out on the piss.
Won't Do It Again is about suffering a hangover in jail, Cider Safari is a Beach Boys spoof and Peroxide Baby is about hanging out on the beach with a blonde ("I'm using oil and she's using bleach").
There's a song about sex in a Lay-By On The Edge Of Town and one about a Ton Up Vicar. If you can forgive puns on these tunes like "car'ma sutra" and "rev it up rev" then you may find this record hilarious.

Other topics from their look on life include revival bands, big dogs, fake tans and useless gadgets.
As far as digs at cultural icons go, you can't accuse them of being slaves to fashion - familiar targets like Tom Jones, Bono and Liberace are given the once over.
Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid, although perhaps I'm on the wrong beverage. For your listening pleasure these seventeen songs are best consumed after a few pints.
