Review: 'RACE CAR HEARTS'
'Mother Midnight'

-  Label: 'jelly maid music'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '26the March 2012'-  Catalogue No: 'JMMCD018'

Our Rating:
By the time I gave this single a second listen after a week all I remembered of it was the band's name. On the second listen I have to say it hasn't stuck much more than that.

The lead track Mother Midnight is veguely anthemic indie that could be any of a thousand other nondescript bands. Lights is a slow acoustic number with Proclaimers-esque vocals and some nice piano parts that was sort of familiar on second listen. The closing track, Diesel Dawn, is a bit remiscent of the sort of expansive inde rock you might get from It Bites. Is that remotely relevant today?
