Review: 'Sir Reg'
'A Sign of the Times'

-  Album: 'A Sign of the Times' -  Label: 'Heptown Records'
-  Genre: 'Folk'

Our Rating:
Sir Reg are pitched as being for fans of Flogging Molly, The Pogues, The Men They Couldn’t Hang, The Dubliners and Dropkick Murphys. As a fan of none of the aforementioned, this was never going to be one of my top recommendations.

This isn’t the first Celtic folk punk album I’ve received bearing this title, either. What is it with these bands and their brand of social critique? As I said, I was never going to be brimming with enthusiasm for Sir Reg, with their frenetic fiddling and blustery lyrics.

Still, if you like your Celtic folk punk fast and energetic, then you could do a lot worse than these guys.

Plus, ‘Bolloxology’ is a great song title.
