Review: 'Dead City Ruins'
'Midnight Killer'

-  Album: 'Midnight Killer' -  Label: 'Impedance Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '23rd July 2012'-  Catalogue No: 'IMP028'

Our Rating:
Lemme hear you say ‘rawwwwk!’ Aussie quartet Dead City Ruins are here and ready to rock, and hard. They look like a G ‘n’ R tribute, down to the tats and leather jackets, and even the lead guitarist’s hair, which could be a Slash wig.

‘Midnight Killer’ is a solid enough album and has all the necessary components for a standard set of hard rock tunes – mostly in the form of guitars. Chunky rhythm guitars, guitar solos… Fair play in that it’s unpretentious and doesn’t set out to change the world, but while it’s solid, it lacks any real flair and is ultimately as predictable as the cover.
