I absolutely loathed Lisa Haley's previous album, Absolutely Live, and have the same feelings towards her 8th studio album.
Haley fiddles and sings like Cher all over Cajun, Celtic, Blues and R'n'B., rendering each genre as a bland commercial exercise in non-style.
A few lowlights include the fake reggae of the title track, the sentimental balladry of More Than Anything ("dedicated to those who keep us safe"), the scurvy inducing Pirate's Tale ...............I could go on but life's too short.
Joy Ride is an album which pledges allegiance to dance-inciting "Zydecosis" which sounds like a rare disease; an apt analogy since listening to this garbage is a health hazard to any sane listener.
Take my advice and keep a safe distance to avoid infection.
