'Transfall'

-  Album: 'Transfall' -  Label: 'ROOM40'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Catalogue No: 'RM449'

Our Rating:
Just as the thirst for horror movies is endlessly insatiable, so the need for soundtracks to accompany them is everlasting. People like to be scared. And while ‘Transfall’ doesn’t belong to a film, it’s an album that could easily fit the bill. Fear chords and things that go bump at random combine to create an uneasy, unsettling eeriness. The listener doesn’t get the opportunity to settle back and relax: the creeping paranoia that ‘Transfall’ induces will keep you on edge and constantly glancing over your shoulder.

Against static hiss, mains hum, spectral buzzes, insect flickers and high-end whines and mid-range drones, clattering, heavy breathing, thumps, creaks and rattles ebb and flow relentlessly, building tension without release.

‘Transfall’ is a ready-made soundtrack to your own horror as it plays out in real-time. Very uneasy listening indeed.
