Review: 'DARLINGTONS, THE'
'Decades Dance'

-  Label: 'Ordered Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '21st May 2012'

Our Rating:
These four young men from Taunton,UK started out as a school band and though clearly in earnest they bring nothing new to the table here.

The press release promises us "pummelling yet poppy indie rock" and their website tells us to expect "moody euphoric guitar music.

Comparisons get made with Interpol, Biffy Clyro and Death Cab For Cutie but the most you can really say is that they play efficiently.

Declarations of love and admissions of self doubt make their brand of rock fairly non-macho and the violence in the videos to the singles Bats and Everything are presumably to offset accusations of wimpiness.

If they are break through the plethora of bands playing the same sort of stuff as this they need to inject a bit of this raw, venomous energy into their songs.

As it stands nothing jars about their music but at the same time nothing really sticks or stands out either.
