Review: 'DIGNAN PORCH'
'SAD SHAPE'

-  Label: 'CAPTURED TRACKS'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '14th August 2012'

Our Rating:
UK band American label. I see boys and girls, formica tables and warm beer and cider in plastic cups. Conviviality is running amok. The indie strum that carries the track is point of fact. Having listened to other material by the band this is prevalent in all that they do. It puts them in the Saturday social and that’s no bad thing. Actually this track is a little more forceful than the other ones I heard and it seems to suffer a little as a consequence.

Their sound and this song soon gets overtaken by the slightly angular guitar riff and both this and the organ seem a little overdriven in the context of what they might be trying to achieve here? What I mean by that is the meat of the matter is in the hook of the vocals, especially with the roll of the snare acting propulsively. It is as (r)iff they are trying to head bang their way out of a paper bag and there is really no need. They already nailed it with talk of plastic shopping bags as far as I am concerned. Is this song about dancing? Heaven knows we all throw some sad shapes.
