Review: 'CARROLL, MARC'
'(It was) Lust Not Love (single)'

-  Label: 'One Little Indian'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '22nd October 2012'

Our Rating:
Marc Carroll is a forty something Irish songwriter, now resident in Los Angeles, who releases this promo three minute single to signal the imminent arrival of his fifth album Stone, Beads & Silver and a scheduled reissue of his previous four.

For this big push he's put together a studio band of musicians who have worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Midlake and My Morning Jacket.

It's a light hearted tune about a black-hearted woman whose wicked ways are enough to send the singer to an early grave : "they'd send you down to hell but you'd come back worse".

Not super original but if you like your jangly folk rock with nasally Tom Petty-ish vocals then Marc Carroll's your man.
