Review: 'NIGHTINGALES, THE'
'REAL GONE DADDY'

-  Label: 'Cooking Vinyl'
-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '15th October 2012'-  Catalogue No: 'frycd526p'

Our Rating:
This is the download single off of the latest Nightingales' album No Love Lost, which was recorded and produced by Hans Joachim Irmler at Faust Studios and I reviewed here earlier in the year.

This has a great fizzing guitar solo that runs through the middle of it as well as some almost call and response lyrics between Robert Lloyd and the drummer Fliss Kitson before it all breaks down and Robert Lloyd claims he is embracing the Barron Knights before he bites his tongue and poisons himself. The guitars then come back in fiercer than ever to excoriating effect before you get the bonus of an almost nursery rhyme take on Joanna Newsom's the Book of Right On.

This is one very cool single and well worth hearing.
