It's very easy to sneer at pop music set up and produced to cater for the mainstream music industry, and there are some who discount the genre out of hand purely because of the label - dismissed as 'too commercial' or 'manufactured'.
More fool them, because in amongst all the (admittedly often crap) radio friendly releases there are diamonds in the rough to be found. Diamonds like Telen Rodwell.
Unabashed, unpretentious, joyous pop music with slick production values and a catchy tune, a million miles away from cynical cash ins and reality TV winners (and losers). 'Heart of Gold' is the pop music in its pomp - upbeat and with a melody you can sing to when it blasts from your radio. And what's wrong with that?
