Review: 'Egyptology'
'The Skies'

-  Album: 'The Skies' -  Label: 'Clapping Music'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Catalogue No: 'CLAP 029'

Our Rating:
There’s no shortage of technical tickling going on across this album of spacious, mystical electronica. Making maximum use of stereo effects, oodles of noodly doodles interweave across a broad, smooth wash of cinematic synth lines as expansive as a drifting desert. Rolling bass and locked-in rhythms propel the pieces along, but when all’s said and done, it’s little more than ‘Tubular Bells’ with a drum machine pumping out some contemporary beats. Meh.
