Review: 'JONES, GABRIELLA'
'Hey You (remastered)'

-  Label: 'Self-released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '24th April 2013'

Our Rating:
Having already has success with both '˜Hey You', and 'Blue Hills and Purple Butterflies', who knows where the recently re-mastered double A-side will take this spectacular young talent.

The stand out track has to be 'Hey You': it is honestly mind-blowing. For just over 3 minutes you forget that it's an 18 year old you're listening to as there are hints of huge internationally successful artists such as P!nk, (who she's played a support slot for), Avril Lavagine, Hayley Williams and Kelly Clarkson in there. The drums and strong electric guitars add the gutsy vibe of the track, but because she has a hugely powerful vocal and stunning range, these elements don't overwhelm her.

The other track on the double A-side, '˜Blue hills and purple butterflies' is a rock ballad that demonstrates Gabriella's softer side. With piano and acoustic guitar accompanying her, is much easier to appreciate how talented she is as a singer, but the track as a whole doesn't hit you in the face in quite the same way that 'Hey You' does. Certainly after a couple of listens, though, it leaves just as much of an impression.
