Review: 'Milestone'
'Medicate the Night (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '13th May 2013'

Our Rating:
The cover depicts a classic poker night. The players are smoking fags and slugging spirits from bottles… but there’s a twist. The players are all chicks. Busty chicks in corsets. If only poker nights were like that, eh, guys? Yeah, right.

Milestone may draw influence from acts spanning Jimi Hendrix, Them Crooked Vultures, The Black Keys, Jack White and The Foo Fighters and create a reasonably pumped-up driving rock sound but with lines like ‘tell your mama you’re not coming home’ (‘Dirty Knees’) and a rather weak vocal that doesn’t sit well with the beefy blues-rock swagger of the riffs, Milestone come across like they’re trying to prove their macho prowess.

There are some appealing parts to be found here, and if they’d ditch the corny solos, the nut-busting machismo leanings and the singer, they could be a pretty solid rock act.
